Did you think that Dead Sea nights are boring? Why not enjoy some music?
The experience of music in Masada is nothing you’ve ever experienced before! Coming to Masada for a music show isn’t an ordinary trip to an ancient place. There’s a special kind of excitement in the air, wild energy you feel only when the past and the present come together and blend into one place.
Music shows typically take place at night. It’s not as important in closed spaces as in open stadiums, and it’s far more dominant when you’re surrounded by the mountains and stones from thousands of years ago. If you get here before the sun sets you can see the wonder of gold rays of light on the mountain tops and wild desert around. It’s such a wonderful sight you’ll probably take a moment to admire god’s creation.
After dark is the time for shows to begin. Most of the audience is already seated and show lights can begin. Joyful green, red and yellow, all playfully flicker on rocks that are older more than anything you’ve ever seen. This sight is quite spectacular, a modern take on ancient nature that seems to have been here since the beginning of time. Even before the band starts to play, you already feel you’re a little out of reality.
When the music starts the dream is complete: echoing from rocks and mountain tops, it sounds different than anything one can imagine. The best way to feel music in Masada is attending an opera concert. When larger than life stories and voices meet a larger than life location and let you become one with the music.
The musical experience on top of Masada fort is what a real live show is supposed to be. It blows away all your senses and leaves you amazed and grateful for being able to experience this kind of greatness.
