There’s no wonder young people don’t hurry to the Dead Sea. They’re in good health, like urban surroundings, and would really love to spend some money! If shopping is one of your goals, the Dead Sea has little to offer. Although like most luxury hotels, Dead Sea hotels have a nice variety of shops, there are no big malls or shopping centers around. There have been talks of building a large mall by 2025 but until then most Dead Sea shopping consists mostly of Dead Sea products.
This unique place has the best and widest range of Dead Sea cosmetics. The best stores around are by Premier Dead Sea, an international cosmetics brand which offers state of the art products that can be found in Bloomingdale’s and other luxury brick and mortar stores, or if you prefer to shop online, so sites like Besso Cosmetics are where you’ll find a nice product selection.
Besides cosmetics, around the Dead Sea there are mostly spas and convenient stores. The place has embraced the common view about it as health tourism and didn’t take the leap into lifestyle just yet. For now, if you’d like to go to a great Dead Sea spa you can find one on the ground floor of your hotel. If you’d like to purchase a nice piece of jewelry, you may have to walk to a nearby hotel since there aren’t’ jewelry stores in every hotel in the Dead Sea area and the same goes for clothes.
Shopping for electronics or Holy Land memorabilia is next to impossible in this area. Dead Sea memorabilia, however, is quite common.
Maybe the non-shopping environment is a good thing. Enjoy this wonder on nature and shop later, in a man-made wonder: the airport.
